Types of Membership

  • Full membership for parents & carers of children and young people (0–25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) in Southend only.

  • Associate membership for others wishing to support our work, such as families in the surrounding areas, extended family and practitioners.

  • Affiliate membership for groups and organisations.

Just by sharing information about your family you help the SSP to understand the needs of children and young people with SEND in Southend and inform our discussions with local decision makers.

If SSP is well supported by Southend parent carers then it is a clear statement that parent carers want to have a voice and to contribute to local and national decision making.

In return you will become part of a supportive community that understands your life. You will receive regular information about issues that are important to your family, meet other parent carers and be invited to participate in events where you can have direct discussions with local services and decision makers.

There is no cost to becoming a SSP member, we just ask that you share some basic information with us about your family and how we can contact you.

All members receive SSP updates by email keeping you up to date on our work, opportunities to get involved and other SEND news. We provide a mix of information about participation opportunities and training events that are happening locally.

SSP will ensure that any personal information that you share with us is kept securely and only used for the purposes that you have specifically agreed to.

Join SSP by completing the membership form and clicking on the submit button. Thank you for your support!
